Data Extraction For Real Time Mobile Signal Strength Tool
The Problem Telco companies would like to better understand mobile strength of covered areas, based on tower placement and signal propagation Current solutions have either extremely long running times (based on BI and GIS) or cover only a part of the end-to-end solution The Solution A complete python Ene to end tool which can predict and visualise in real-time mobile strength across areas, taking into account frequency, antenna types & distance. My Role My role as a data engineer in the team was to find a means of extracting and transforming realiable location data from points that are within visibility from mobile towers placed at different geographical location of known coordinates. I was able to achieve this by using the python programming language with a geographical information system software known as QGIS.
